Our History

1844-Schrader founded by German pioneer August Schrader, inventor of the now famous Schrader pneumatic tire valve; the very same patented valve which is used on every motor vehicle in the world today.

1845-Schrader supplies fittings and valves for rubber products made by Goodyear Brothers.

1891-Schrader produces the first tire valve for bicycles designed by August Schrader's son, George Schrader .

1896-Schrader patents the tire valve cap. Tire valves for automobiles are introduced.

1905-Schrader introduces gauges to measure tire pressure with accuracy

1960- Schrader opens plant in Pontarlier France to support European Market.

1961-Schrader Scovill Duncan Ltd, incorporated in India as a Joint Venture with Indian partner

1963-Schrader opens plant in Mumbai, India.

1975-Pneumatic Business Unit of Schrader Scovill Duncan Ltd. started at Mulund, Bombay

1979-Schrader opens plant in Monroe, NC for tubeless tire valves.

1982-Schrader starts offering pneumatic systems

1988-Electronic tire gauges are introduced on a global basis.

1990-Schrader continues with development of TPMS for vehicles,allowing on dash display of tire pressure.

1991-Schrader Scovill Duncan Ltd in India renamed as Schrader Duncan Ltd

1993-Schrader establishes plant in Northern Ireland for the continuing development of pressure measurement technologies.

1994-Schrader celebrates 150 years of innovation.

2000-Schrader gets ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certificate for Pneumatic

2002-ISO series cylinders, KG series cylinders & High-flow series valves started

2003-Stainless Steel Valves added

2007-Schrader develops Positioner-cylinders

2008-Schrader establishes new world class plant in India at Ranjangaon, Pune

2010 -Schrader gets ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certificate for the new Ranjangaon Plant

2012-Majority stake acquired by J P Goenka group

2012 -Schrader gets TS 16949 Certification for Automotive

2013-Pneumatics Business unit renamed as Fluid Power & Automation Business unit to reflect the enhanced product portfolio i.e. Pneumatis,Hydraulics and Valve Automation Systems.

2013-"Maxflow" range of products introduced by Fluid Power & Automation Business unit
